Got to the river after work around 4:30 pm. Got everything set up and it seemed quiet. The last few days I've shown up there were fish surfacing everywhere, but today, nothing. Started working the slot that I caught a couple kings on earlier in the week and nothing for an hour. I moved around a bit and the best I could do in 2 1/2 hours was a few bullhead. Didn't even get any bobbers down... Nothing! Saw a couple fish surface in that time, but not very many, or at least not as many as the last few days. I think that the school that I saw on my way in yesterday was kings and I just so happened to get into them. Needless to say, I think they moved upstream. So all of you fishing in the 277th area get ready for some kings. Just a note too...I was looking at the creel reports on wdfw's website, and it looks like the peninsula is getting tons of ho's right now. The lack of rain is just making for a late return this year. The last few years in that area there is usually a spike in ho activity in the last week of Sept. This year it looks like they are just a little late. Log onto the site and see the numbers yourself. Hopefully, with a little precipitation and luck, the next few weeks are going to be EPIC! Tight lines.
