Lunch trip again. Got on the water about 12:15. tide was out, but water was still pretty high and not looking too fishy. Sunny with a stiff breeze. Couple people fishing, but things looked dead. In the first half hour I think I saw maybe two fish surface.. I started with my jig, but the water was moving pretty fast where I was located, so switched out to corky and yarn. Tried a couple different colors with no results. Lost my hook on a snag, so tied on the old Chartrugly again. That jig is starting to show some character. The tide had shifted and was starting to slow the drift, so changed up my presentation a bit and some soft jigging shortly resulted on a solid hit. She made one good run after getting sight of me and the hook did not seem all that well set, but managed to coax her into the net....speaking of which, I apparently have a hole in my net about the size of a small salmon head....found that out today. Moving on. Chrome hen...no sea lice, but healthy looking aside from a sore on her mouth that looked like maybe she'd done battle with a lure in the past. Tried jigging for another 10 minutes before jetting out of there without any more action. Off the water at 1pm. Sure didn't expect to bring anything home, but makes up for releasing my last catch.
