It was My Wife and I's Anniversary yesterday, and HER idea was to skip work and go fishing.. OK!! She's a Keeper!!
we got a later start than my normal timing due to getting our kid ready and off to school so mom and dad could spend some quality time together...

I knew the river was blowing but this is the day we had so we made the best of it..
we checked out a few places on the wallace behind the hatchery and down and it was up high, the hatchery holding pond was LOADED with coho and i even saw a couple big nice stealheads..

We finally landed over by the tracks down from the mouth and walked the tracks in to the tressel.. holy moly! the river was up.. I was there saturday and it was night and day, the trail was under water even, we actually walked down the underwater trail and started to head towards the mouth using this route, but the current was moving fast and it was just to deep to wade in. in fact we went a little to deep and almost got swept in (scary moment on video).. dumb idea by ME!! I wont make that mistake again.. We saw a few chum roll under the tressel so we decided to stay here for a bit.. we fished floats and jigs and floats and eggs.. no takers and I finally ran out of eggs.. so we had some hot homemade chicken soup that i made the night before and relaxed for a few next to the raging river before moving on.
We then left and checked out the sky on the way out.. it was RAGING! i saw big trees coming down the river.. cool site..
we headed around looking at a few more spots for signs of fish and didn't see enough to drop lines in anymore.. but the adventures were fun getting to those spots.. little muddy but fun..

fishing to me is about getting out in nature and for that and the natures destruction and effect we saw, it was a great day! the adventure with the wife with out our kid in tow was real nice for a change..

PIC: on our way out down the tracks i heard the train! I been wanting to get this shot for video for a while.. so look for it in a soon to be video..

Sounds like a great day with the wife. Really want to catch fish, but I also enjoy just getting out on the river.

it's fully BLOWN out! was past the tressle casting and saw a poor guy fall into ditch on way to get to mouth. Reckon that's what happens when off of 30Kcfps down to 15 and back up again. had fun and lost two chum. smoker sets lonely.
