11/2/2012 9:34:00 PMany day on the river beats a day at work!!! glad you could make it out there! while I was at Chico today I had to go to my car to do some orders on my laptop ( I am a food salesman) and the game warden walked by and laughed and said "I want your job" as I sat there in my waders with a tie on doing business. lol

11/3/2012 8:05:00 PM@Barry, yes, it is nice to be able to fish on my lunch break or before work, but it'd also be nice to be able to get out on the weekend with a little more freedom. One of these days. @Hooked, I get that the Coho are getting scarce, but I'm still trying to figure out how I missed the Chum coming through. I see the reports of them being up higher, but thought with the amount of trips I make and with the colors of my jigs I'd have hooked at least one in passing. Maybe I'm still a little early on the Chums. I'll continue to try for them though as long as my lunch hour and the weather allow. :)

11/3/2012 11:14:00 PMI landed a 15 to 17 lb chum about 2 weeks ago and have been seeing a few roll. I have never had much luck in the lower part of river with the chum run it seems to me that they mostly run through to the upper part river. They are usually pretty thick up in the Auburn area by the bridge when they get there. I don't keep chum and not a fan of dark fish so I rarely venture that way plus it shoulder to shoulder fishing most of the time.

11/3/2012 11:45:00 PMI hear the Chums are not good table fare, but sounds like the fight they put up makes up for it. I wouldn't mind C&Ring a few.... especially since I am short on freezer space at the moment. Hope to have some room by the time winter Steelhead start showing up in fair numbers. :)

11/4/2012 7:04:00 AMBR~ if you get a semi- bright one they are great in the smoker if you bleed them right away and keep cold! The bonus is if you get a female those chum eggs are the best! The trick is not to clean her until you get home to keep the eggs intact. They will keep coming in as I have seen them jumping like silvers in past around 112th into November. Just need the river to drop down some
