Fished from 7:30am to around 11am on the highway side of Reiter. Conditions were less than optimal - rain (and getting heavier as the morning progressed) and a rising river. Despite that, Nate managed to hook into a steelie which unfortunately came undone. I had no luck. But, I did get my fishing fix for the week and I feel much better now. :-)

It will get better. Hatchery side had 22 anglers and we saw two caught.

Some use the flow charts to decide when to fish and can fish it when it is optimal, others (like me) use the charts to plan how you are going to fish and fish it whenever you can. Good job just getting out there and giving it a go. Your day of steel is coming Mike, You are due, it may be a week, a month or dare I say a year, but it is coming!

I took the entire week off to fish for steel and the river I fish is about 3ft high. I hope the rain will stop soon.

well, thanks Gringo, but I hope not a year, unless is Jan 1st, the New Year. No I've got to hit some fish in the coming weeks, I'm over-due in the steel department!

Lady and I stopped at the Wallace on the way out, the rain had let up. Got a nice 5-6 pounder on pink. They wanted pink today.
