Got to the river around 9 AM after shoveling off my driveway and sending my wife off to work. Promptly high-sided my car in some deep snow left by the snowplows that had cleared Hwy 2. Great. I have AAA and I wasn't blocking anyone so I decided I would fish for awhile and then face the music later. Saw El Presidente (Mike Carey) standing on a rock and shooting the breeze with his back to the river. I grabbed a rock above him and started working the water in front of him trying to hit the fish he should have been working. That plan didn't work so we fished together for awhile before I shifted down river and he left. Around 15 minutes after he left I hit a fish with some color in it but what the heck it was hatchery so I bonked it. Worked some more areas and decided to hit one more spot before I heading back to my parking troubles. I got a vicious takedown which I hit but came up empty on....how does that happen? I watched the guy next to me work his float right over the spot I got hit and told him that was "ground zero". He glanced at me as I watched his float dive under and I told him he better hit the fish. He quickly realized his inattention and applied the wood to the fish and landed it. Cool. I decided to leave on that happy note and waited for around an hour before AAA came and quickly extracted my car from the parking lot. I give the day three stars because I was only one fish short of a limit even though it is only two stars on the Gringo meter. :-)
