Fished the last christmas night, the next day, and last night with only one show, a 31inch, 10-11lb glow balled cowlitz river winter steelhead. not only my first cowlitz winter steelhead but my first glow balling steelhead, which bit a 6ft leader, 2 #10 glow corkies and a 1/0 hook. Felt the take, a couple headshakes then through the moon light a saw it jump about 4-5ft out of the water then stormed right at me and settle the rest of the fight a couple feet from shore where it was later landed and tagged. Well that happened to be the only action I got, while others did alright, the next day I counted/heard of atleast 10 fish on the beach and another dozen or so caught by the boats and guides. Crowds were not all that bad but seeing the boat guys casting at our feet and drifting threw our gear kind of made me mad.
I also fished the skookumchuck and released a few boots and some good rollers but not too many good ones being caught. I heard the plunkers are doing well for steelhead though.
