I had a great day on the green river fishing the metzler park area. As soon as my fishing partner and I arrived a couple people were leaving and they said there was nothing going on out there and that fishing was dead, so I though great because one of my goals for today was to teach my friend how to fish with a bobber and jig. As we get to the river, one guy had a few white fish in a bucket but no one else had anything. My friend and I setup our poles and get ready for some fishin. The first cast I make (because im showing my buddy what to do) my bobber goes down and i know right away that its a big fish by the way its peeling my line, after about a 5-8 min fight i finaly get to fish to the shore its a beautiful buck steelhead that i gussed to be about 10-11 pounds. The whole time I was playing the fish my buddy is saying "you son of a Bit** i dont even have my pole in the water yet, and you have a fish on you Bastar*". After the excitement of catching the first fish we spent the next few hours missing a few bobber downs so we decided to call it a day because our hands were getting cold. I think my friend likes this method of fishing, now that he knows it can catch some fish.
I measured the fish at home because i didnt have a scale and it was 34 3/4 in long and 17 1/8in girth, so someone can figure out its actual weight by putting the #'s in an equasion.
