Got to the trout hole around 10:00 started out with a half an half dicknite had no luck than I switched to a full nickel dick nite than first cast bam had a decent sized trout on my line he can out to 14 1/2 inches pretty good for the skykomish river I've heard. Than two cast after hooked another 13 incher than 15 minutes past an all of a sudden a huge hit I hooked probably a 5 pounder I got him in than right by the bank the line snapped I was soo disappointed. But so far it was a good day.

The big fish was probably a Dolly.

What a beauty...What kind of trout is in the river system up there. Rainbow? Does not have the color down the middle like the lake rainbows.

Rainbows, Brookies, Dollies, and Cutts are all in the upper system around the town of Sky/east of Baring. Started noticing Brookies in the late 90's. I figure they came from the Alpine Lakes plants decades ago and trickled down into the Foss/Tye/Beckler/Sky. My Pops landed a German Brown just out of Sky in 90's. We were all confused about that. Been fishing/living in the zone off and on since 80's... oh, and they dump a bunch of steelies every summer twice a summer right in town under the bridge. Some of those stick around/don't go down river. They certainly are fun to C&R when caught on light gear when going for trout and late-season Alpine Whites.
