Fished the afternoon up river on the HWY side of Reiter. River was up alittle and had some color. Fished the first spot and nothing. Moved up river to next hole my Son had shown me and switched to a white jig. After about 15 minutes, bam, bobber down. Knew it was a hog, came out of the water once and keep on fighting. It took 2 more runs before I could finally land it. Then I figured out it was a Native :/ Took quick pic, put it back in the river safely, and it took off for another day in the river. What a beauty. Only take down that afternoon.

Editors Note:

WDFW Fishing Regulations Page 10:
Freshwater: It is unlawful to totally remove salmon, steelhead, or Dolly Varden/bull trout from the water if it is unlawful to retain those fish, or if the angler subsequently releases the salmon, steelhead, or Dolly Varden/bull trout.

In other words, there's nothing to complain about here. If you've got something negative to say just move along and dump it somewhere else on the net.

It might have been it was pretty dark for a winter run. Usually there pretty bright and silver.

The spirit of the "no remove law" was to keep people from dropping these big fish onto the rocks/ground, suffocating them, or breaking their backs etc. I probably missed a few earlier posts but bankfisher did fine.

Here's a video link with some good catch/release handling info. Nice fish BTW. :-)
