It was a very wet day, but the fish were very hungry! Walker is a beautiful lake because of the no combustable rule and so trolling around with an electric is so peaceful. We just tipped a # 8 worm hook with about an inch of nightcrawler and went real slow with no weight. We limited out in a little over an hour. They are stocked fish from this year, but the game person was there as we got in our boat and she said there could be left over triploids from last year. There were a few pesky bass that are pretty small, but they did add a bit of variety.
If you've never been to Lake Walker, don't take a large boat with a trailer unless you have four wheel drive and are good at backing up. The ramp is steep, long and loose gravel. Two wheel drive pickups with boats in the back even have a hard time. Be preparred also, as they are getting ready to fix the road up to the lake. It is narrow and curvy. Walker is a small lake with quite a bit of debris under the surface. Good for fish, not for lures.
