My son and I started at the Spillway at 7am. The fish were rolling when we started fishing, so I decided to use sandshrimp. On my third cast, it was fish on. I fought it for a few seconds, felt the head shake, and it spit the hook. I had a few other hook ups, but could not land them. My son had the same problem. We decided to explore, and went up to 7400. There were a lot of fisherman, but nothing for us. We spent a few hours up there, but then came back down river to the boat ramp area. I've been fishing it for years, and still don't know the name of the area. Anyways, we still had some sandshrimp, so we decided to use it up. My first cast, I had a fish on. My son wash all the way up at the tail out, so I called him back down. I let him fish the hole, and he hooked his first one, but it got off. I was fishing a few hundred yards above him, and all of the sudden I see an explosion by where he was fishing. I came back down, and he landed it. A boat with a few guys in there, saw the fish he landed, and fished the area as well. They ended up having a double. It was good to see that there were more fish in the holes. After, we called it a day.
