Panfishing is the alternitive to bass fishing, and many may not agree with me but I think its more fun to catch these scrappy little fighter on 4 pound test than sitting in a boat trolling for farmed trout all day (but what do I know). I went out fishing with small 1/16 to 1/32 ounce marobu jigs tipped with a strange little grub that I bought at walmart called a waxworm. I have no idea why they sell them in washington because they're only found out in the eastern states, BUT MAN DO THEY CATCH FISH. I can't keep the crappies off my marobu, waxworm combo. After I catch a fish, I rebate, cast, reel, and BOOM another fish on. I kid you not when I say I probably caught atleast 20 crappies in one afternoon. I felt sorry for the trout fisherman, I asked 5 of them if they had any luck but I got the same answer everytime, "nope, slow day". Even though the biggest one I caught was 7 1/2, and they average between 3 and 6 inches, a small one is better than none. By the by, I don't know if you have the same problem but everytime I bring the boat in, theres always a person on the launch with a line in the water, and the worst part is, THEY WON'T REEL IN. They should have a law against fishing from the dock because if you cut their line (which I have) they get all mad at you. Happy Fishing
