Made it to the Sky with fly rod in hand. First run I fished I found no takers, not even a sniff..... Two hours later I found myself at my goto spot.... Not feeling to optimistic at that point but swinging a fly kept me interested enough to stay. As I work my way down stream, my attitude started to change. This run is so sweet, I found myself anticipating the grab. it had to hold Steel!! ........I feel the tug....I set the hook hard!!!!..... 8lbs of chrome cart wheeled out of the water, line went tight, reel started to scream....It sounded like a Women in heet. That fish was so perfect, so awesome I couldn't turn it into dinner. By the end of the day, my partner and I Hit 4 Steelhead, the biggest was about 14lbs

Beautiful Fish! Nice work! It almost looks like there's a pink jig in the one in the picture. Am I mistaken?

Hey Wbroekhof, That's not a jig, he put a piece of yarn on the hook. I Didn't think about it.,he might have put some juice on the yarn!!!!.....that little cheater

I was hoping someone else would notice. Stan is right of course. Last Monday did not require gloves, the trees are currently green, and that ain't the Sky. Why do people B.S. like that?

And the adipose fin has been blurred out. Thought I was seeing things (aside from the trees having no leaves) until I saved it to my computer and zoomed in on that spot.

Hard to tell looking at that pic, but zoomed in it's obvious.

You got me, I'm busted!! It's hard to even land a fish on a high bank with a 13' spey rod, when you mostly fish alone , not to mention getting a pic of a fish when you want to release the fish. I only have a few pics on my computer of Steelhead since I started fly fishing 3 years ago. I guess I could have put a report without any pics, but that's not any fun. So my partner was not there, I almost landed 2 fish. One was about 7lbs. The other was a Wild Buck of about 8lbs that I did not want to drag up on the beach. I was holding on to my line reaching for my pliers when the line broke. I would have put a fish pic of around 8lbs if I had any, that I haven't used allready

Awesome! I've always wanted to catch a Skykomish steelhead on the fly! What line setup were you using? Thanks!

Hey Fisherben, I'm using a spey rod, so my line is a 500 grain Skagit head with a 15' type 6 sink tip and a 5' 10lb leader
