After kissing the wife good-bye and making sure she was safely on her way over the mountains I quickly grabbed my gear and headed to meet my friend on the Puke in hopes of getting into some sort of fish as I am on a pretty long dry streak here! We arrived only to find the river packed as they had closed a large section of the lower river which pushed everyone up where we like to fish away from the crowds. We did find a section where the 2 of us could wade out and make some casts ( nice having those new waders!) Started with a small amount of lead and short leader as visibility was only a few feet. We saw a few fish roll but not takers so after a couple hours told him I was going to head to the salt and try and find a beach to spend the day and cast for pinks.
