Gotta start catching up on my reports. Hit the Shonomish on Thursday afternoon with BlueRock. Rated this trip a 1 for fishing, but I really the main purpose of the trip was to get me out on the river in my new-to-me boat for the 1st time. Blue has the same boat and I know she knows the river so I was excited to get all of the knowledge I could out of the trip.
We launched out of Rotary Park and headed upstream. The tide was super low which was a bonus as it gave me a good start of my mental mapping of the stumps and logs along the river. We ran up a little ways past the Pilchuck and covered anchoring, beaching, side drifting, etc. After a couple hours of school we were back down below hwy 9 and saw a couple fish roll so casted to them as we drifted downstream. Hooked & lost one and that was it. There were a few rolling, but not many and didn't see anyone catching.
