Mon 8/26
First time out on Duwamish this season as I've been at Puyallup... I hate it there. Got there at 3pm which is right around the 2nd low tide with the wifey. She managed to pull 5/6 pinks where I was 0/3 with 1/4oz pink squid jigs. Not sure what she was doing, but she was on the fish. Guy next to me was drift fishing and I kept tangling my line with his. Got a little irriated after the 3rd time as everyone else was using jigs or buzz bombs... if that's not a hint, I don't know what is. I didn't say anything. Luckily, he switched his gear to jigs and all was good. Had a good time and was outta there at 4:30pm.

Tues 8/27
Arrived solo at 7am with 1-2 dozen people already fishing. Guy next to me was fishing a pink jig on a slip bobber about 3 ft from the surface. I was skeptical as I've never seen anyone successfully fish this method... i was wrong as he was landing fish at the same frequency I was was. I was impressed. Other guy next to me was throwing buzz bombs and dick nite spoons without any luck. Tried to help the guy out and tell him to use a jig. Threw pink squid jigs for a hour, then switched to a red marabou jig for the next hour. Fish didn't seem to care as they hit both. Left at 9am with 3/10+ hookups. Lost many due to broken line, broken hook, or fish coming undone.

Weds, 8/28
Arrived solo at 6:30am with a dozen people already fishing. Didn't see much action from anyone except the guy next to me snagging (and releasing) two pinks. Proceeded to cast for 35 minutes without any action. Fish were rolling so I wasn't sure what was going on. Crap, only had 45 minutes to fish before heading to work and was bummed to see no action. Next thing I know, bam, fish on every couple of casts for the next 20 minutes. C&R 2/8 as I didn't want to have fish sitting in my car for the next 10 hours. Same thing as yesterday with broken line, broken hook, or fish coming undone. Had to leave and got to work late. Contemplating going after work...

Float and jig is one of the most productive techniques to use for Pinks, fresh or salt water. I don't know why it is not used more for Pinks, because it is flat deadly for them. Pinks prefer slow moving presentations. That is why fly fishing for them is an excellent presentation as well, low and slow. Tip the jig with a small piece of of cocktail shrimp meat or raw prawn meat to up the odds where legal, float down.

I heard they were starting to net on 9/1. Any truth to that?
