On 1Sep13 about 1100 am I started fly fishing the Clarks Creek at DeCoursey Park in Puyallup. I was looking for a fly fishing spot close to home. Well I found one! I started fishing near the mouth of DeCoursey Pond using a black knat fly with no luck. As I ventured up the creek looking for another spot, a nice couple told me about fish they saw from the 7th Ave SW bridge. Looking down from the bridge I could see numerous trout. That is were the fun begins. You will notice that the other side of the creek is private property so you have to enter from the park side. I fished the upstream side and cast towards the bridge. I caught and release 4-5 cuttroat trout about 5-6 inches using a Brown Elk Hair Caddis. It was a great time. Be careful as the creek bottom is really soft so I had to fish from the bank.
