Fished near the Prison in Monroe, beach side with about 100 of my closest friends. Actually, everyone seemed to be having a great time and no issues on either side of the river, some catching more than others-hard to say what method was working best, saw all kinds. I was using what a guide friend calls "a slingshot on an elephant" a 5' 6" ultralight with 4 lb test, about 90 yards worth..twitching jigs feels pretty good with that, but takes a bit to figure out how to set the hook since the take is quite different. Got a few near shore, they looked dark, walked up river a ways and after a bit hooked 4 pretty quick, landed 3 of them, kept two, both bad sea lice, 6lbs or so each, unreal fight on that tackle, had me running 80 yards downriver to land. Can't give it a 5 since there are so many folks fishing and so many fish, but really not biting that crazy out there, just have to hang in there I guess.....might have to put that pole away for silvers.....then again, if I have enough beach........
