Got the chance to go out on a friends luxury jet sled on the Nisqually to feed the kings. I had a couple different egg cures I wanted to try out. We started above the hatchery confluence and fished pinks with bobber and pink jig tipped with sand shrimp. Caught mostly bucks and hooked and kept only one pink hen. My friend hooked a monster pink buck, pushing close to 10 lbs. He also hooked a big native hen chinook 15-16lbs on the same jig tipped with sand shrimp and light humpy gear. Really fun to watch a guy fight a big king on light gear. After our fill of pink fishing we went down below the confluence and fished a slot and first cast I hooked into a nice big hen. I was thrilled that my new egg cure works. After that the fishing only got better. Bobber downs every other cast. My friend hooked a king and as I was reeling up to get out of his way a king takes my eggs. DOUBLE! We lose a few and get one more to the boat before we decide to head back because its starting to get dark. First time fishing the Nisqually and it was amazing fishing! Also excited that I can now fish with confidence with a good egg cure.
