I scouted 4 or 5 spots trying to find one where I wasn't going to impede on everyone already there. everywhere I stopped people said it was slow. most had only caught 1 in many hours (or none at all). found my spot downstream of everyone and started.

at first it was slow. typical corky + yarn setup with a light weight.

made two changes. added weight to slow down the drift, got rid of the yarn, and moved to a single small corky. the smallest I have. suddenly I was hooking up like crazy. a couple really good, in the mouth hookups. kept two fish today. both pinks but one of them was so nice and chrome a person could mistake it for a coho.

had a number of fish run and run and run and take line like crazy.

my theory on the corky is that if you're trying to catch a fish that's trying to eat eggs, then a small bright corky looks a lot more like an egg than a giant corky with a huge wad of yarn on it.

suddenly 6 or 7 people dropped into my spot and the drift just got too complicated. I was quite happy with my 2. one is in the oven now.
