Found a great hole in Bob Heirman Wildlife Preserve at Thomas' Eddy... great meaning tons of fish rolling right at my feet. I had 8 on but only left with 2, a hen and a buck. Why did I loose those others? I have no idea. There were 2 casts, 2 fish, lost both before they got to shore. I was letting them run but trying to keep the line tight and they just flopped around and out went the hook. I was close enough to see them all hooked in the mouth, literally 2 ft away from shore. Very frustrating. But ended the day with 2 at home so was a great day to me :) Morning was a bit slow all around. Brought the wrong tackle box so threw some old lures that had lots of red on them and got some nice hits, landed one off a crocodile lure that was basically all red. One guy across the water, on the "more beach side" was using pink jigs and probably got the most on shore over anyone else there. A friend was getting frustrated at not hooking into anything so threw on a trout wedding ring (red) as soon as the cast hit the water BOOM, fish on. Was pretty funny.
