9/10/2013 1:15:00 PMI might be heading to the river this afternoon - but for whatever reason my luck on the river is non existent. I can be using the same exact gear someone else is using, casting and working the rod the exact same way everybody else is and still get skunked....

9/10/2013 8:30:00 PMGonefishing, if you have really heavy line your lure (if you cast/retreive) wont' get too deep, and getting way down to the fish is the key, often. If you never snag bottom, then that also might be a clue that you're maybe fishing too shallow.

9/10/2013 8:32:00 PMYes, some years it seems pinks won't bite nearly as well after 11 am or so.
In the Snohomish, I've heard that the FLOOD tide, in mornings, is the key.
Also, I always fish rivers from a boat.....helps a ton, because I can run for 10 miles and spot the one best spot that has the most jumping fish.

9/11/2013 3:40:00 PMScoutguy, I guess my SKAGIT/HARRISON River and salt-water experience is kicking in, as I guess I'm used to mostly fishing non-tidal waters on the Skagit and Harrison Rivers, or the salt-water mostly. As my knowledge on the Snoho increases, I'm finding that your tidal advice seems to be more true than I first believed. Good wording.
