So after seeing some silvers caught yesterday on the Duwamish on eggs couldn't help but bring my gear to work with me today to see if I couldn't get one for a change of pace from pinks. Was able to get on the river by 11am so threw some sweats over my work clothes and put on some rubber boots and got ready for some egg drifting. I had some pink eggs that I had just put in borax with sea salt and powdered milk and they looked pretty good and natural so put that on with a fire tiger corkie and put a mad river egg over the hook onto the line for some extra scent in case my eggs came off.
Casted upstream and worked through a few casts and on one drift it was doing a sexy little bottom dance when it stopped dead and I felt something take it but waited and sure enough, the line started moving back upstream! Set the hook and it was game on! This fish went ballistic and went airbourne 3 or 4 times before making a run down river; I was able to keep it from getting too much line and worked it back to the hole and after 2 or 3 more runs got him into the net and was happy to see a nice hooked nosed silver for my punch card!!
Was hoping to keep at it but work got busy and my phone was ringing off the hook so had to call it a day but was pretty pleased with about 45 minutes of fishing time to come home with my 1st Green river coho this year so far!
