Well, finally able to get back on the skagit. The heavy rain last weekend has kept it unfishable for a week, but it was finally dropped enough to try today. Last week I was stuck on the cascade, and although fishing was good, crowds were really bad, so I was happy to get back on the skagit and put the boat in again. The Skagit didn't disappoint, I have three or four backwaters and sloughs the fish sit when the water is high. We floated eggs in the back waters and had a quick limit by nine and were eating breakfast at Hamilton by 10. I am fully booked for October, but if you want to fish for late Coho and early steelhead in November, give me a call!

Nice! How is the meat when the fish get that dark? Does it become mushy like pink salmon?

Nope. Those fish on the end were only blushed when we killed em, they got darker after they died. Im my opinion a coho holds its meat much longer than any other salmon, even a really red buck coho has better meat than a slighty colored pink
