Played the Skagit yesterday. spent the first pat of the morning playing with spoons right off the bridge in Sedro-Wooley but after an hour and a half of no luck we decided to leave and go down Penn rd and plunk for some Coho with some eggs. we started off with some light weights but the current kept taking them down river. we finally ended up using some 6 oz weights to keep the eggs from drifting. no sooner had I thrown in my eggs and was helping my buddy rig his pole did the first fish come in. ended up being a silver but it was very small so we threw him back. next cast we had a dolly varden on the line but again too small to do anything with. kept throwing eggs in until we finally landed a decent sized buck. Ended up being about 10 lbs. a lot of fun to play as it was my friends first salmon ever caught. all in all we caught lots of trout and a couple silvers definitely a good day.
