Tons of Skagit Coho still moving through the system. All the rain is making things great on the drop, but keeping us off the river every once and a while. The hatchery fish bound for the cascade are still strong in the upper system, and we are starting to target Sauk bound wild coho in the lower system, these ones are much bigger. Twitching jigs and Sprocket Spinners are doing the trick, and some egg throwing in the upper river for staging fish below the cascade. Average day is anywhere between 10 and 30 coho, depending on conditions. I will be fishing the Skagit until the end of October, then taking some time off to fish the coast and do a few fun things before winter steelhead comes in full swing. I may be running a few trips on the south coast in november if anyone is interested in that as well.
My dates left open for Skagit coho in October are 28, 29, 30, 31. Come get some coho while this epic run is still strong!
