Got a chance to go fishing with a friend this morning. Thought between the improving water clarity and early morning low tide that we had a good chance to get some Coho. Not so. Fished from first light until 11am drifting eggs. My buddy caught a couple small jack Coho, but I couldn't even get that much. Certainly wasn't from lack of trying. Nice morning to be on the water, but sure disappointed in the fish turnout. My friend left at 11am, so I moved to a new location down river. The current was pretty much slack at that point, so tried casting some Dick Nites, but nothing was buying that either. Gave up at noon.
The only thing I managed to catch all morning was this miraculous little device. Snagged some line in the middle of the river and was able to break it lose and pull in the rig I snagged up on. Seeing that snagging hook come out of the water was a surprise. Wicked looking item. Can't imagine stepping on something like that.
Still a good time fishing with my friend regardless. Thanks for the company Don.
