Got a day off from work today so I head out to the Duwi to try and catch some more Coho. I Wasn't able To hook up on any.
I Ran out of eggs bringing about half a quart with me. Luckily I had Some sand shrimp. Seen Some fish rolling but they were kinda dark. Hooked one on, cast nothing, after a few more casts wham! hit like a ton of bricks. Set the hook and started running all over the river. After a 2 - 3 minute fight, brought It up and hey its a buck chum. I'd say it weighs an easy 10 pounds.
The next couple casts. Got another fish on. I thought I hooked up into a coho at first. making about a half dozen jumps. I was able to land it.
SO EFFIN STOKED RIGHT NOW. MY FIRST FREAKIN STEELHEAD OUT OF THE GREEN!!!This must be a winter run cause the skeins on it were still immature. Couldn't wipe the glee off my face for the entire time I was fishing. My hands were shaking, It was amazing. Went right back to fishing. Just like that, another fish on.
This time a Chrome bright chum hen. a few more casts. Hooked into another buck chum. What an Amazing Day of fishing. Started cleaning the fish and remembered out of all the excitement, I Forgot to take Pictures. Better Late than never I guess. And yes, Its a hatchery steelie
