Well I couldnt help myself I had a free day, so my neighbor and I took a little trip to minter. Chums are starting to pack the creek. Its not FULL but there are still plenty of fish! Only about 30 or so guys and most fishing from the bridge up. I like to walk down a little ways so I can use a float. Minter chums go crazy for a purple and pink marabou 1/8th-1/4oz jig under a float. Either scent it with mikes shrimp or put on a piece of raw prawn. I tried out a few different jig color variations and the darker purple marabou jigs out performed any of the lighter jig patterns by far. Fish those jigs 8 or so inches under the float. If you go to deep the chums will snag themselves. Fishing it high keeps it above their heads, and if they want it they will swim up to get it. That way you are not snagging them. And remember chumz are aggressive, so dont be surprised if your jig and float are out fishing the flossers. Have fun! Oh and fyi try and hit the creek close to low slack to incoming. When the tide gets too high the fish just want to go up to the hatchery so the bite dies off.
