Hit the river today near Reiter pond was a great day the sun was shinning and the fish where willing. got on the water about 12. set up a float jig with a black and red lead head cased out ten times didn't hit a thing so changed it up to a larger chartreuse lead head.I cased out 3-4 times boom my first ever steel head didn't fight all that hard had him in in 3 minutes i would say. after i had that fish subdued i cased out again on the same lead head first cast fish on. thing was huge got him to roll two times and then wouldn't budge (looking back i should of let up my tension and got him tired) try to really pull on it and busted a ten lb leader dam it. but great day any ways. my word of advice read the book read the magazines watch the YouTube videos it helps alto oh did i mention this was my second time fishing for steel head .
