I was in Oregon this weekend and was able to fish the river before it blew out. Landed a scrappy 4# native buck, which fought more than my 6# hatchery hen I caught last week. Its always an honor to catch a native steelhead. I snapped a quick picture and send him on his way. I was floating roe, with orange yarn and a bead. I am curious
what your favorite color of yarn is when floating eggs? I typically use orange or pink.

Black, black, black. Yrs ago I lived in Orting and fished the carbon alot for the wild Steelhead they had back than to no avail. Till, I met an older gentlman I got to know always used Black yarn while drifting eggs to start off with. Actually I never caught a steelhead till he taught me alot.
