Ok, today a 3, met a bunch of nice folks, saw a big native landed, maybe 12 lbs. , and one or two more. Overall fishing slow, a lot of folks stressing for fish..I just kept hiking and mostly tossing hardware. No expectations, just thankful to get a couple hours of fishing in up near Reiter-had not been up since August. Started late AM, walked right by an area of rollers on the way in-several guys had gotten there early and deserved the spots.
Was about to leave a few hours later and saw a fish hooked right near me, first one in two hours, fished for 20 minutes, the guy next to me, a regular, (nice guy) told me " why not try one more place on your way out" ...so I did -10 min into that, had another (for the season)in a string of small, but bright fish on the shore, and wisely took 3more casts and left, got a few photos of the mountains and the river, they made my day-the fish was a bonus.
Hard to say if that many more fish are in, you have to work for them and change tactics and presentations constantly. Appreciate the chance to get to fish, many don't have what we have, bad year or not.

I like your attitude! sometimes just being there and enjoying what we have is the most important thing. It will happen when it happens. E for effort!
