This is more of a river update than a report. Drifted the Wynoochee for the first time today, White Bridge to Black Creek. The water had more color than I'd like, but it wasn't unfishable. We connected to 3 fish, but the rest of the boats had slim pickings. It was rough, we had most of our takes on pink worms, and side drifted eggs. There were fish moving up, we saw several instances of chrome breaking the surface as they headed upstream. Fin flipping.

The main reason for the report is to let you know how things have changed after the high water. Lots of wood has moved around, mainly taken downstream. A lot of the nice snags and sweepers that made perfect pockets are missing. One of my favorite corners lost it's tree. Not much new is tricky except for the big tree that is caught on the spillway on the left side, right where you rope over. Roping over in the extra high water today was tricky, and getting back in the boat wanted to suck into the tree. But when the water drops, it will be difficult to get by on the left side, and could potentially be dangerous. In the right flows you can row over the dike, but the new tree makes things difficult. Just a heads up for those of you looking to drift it this weekend.

Thanks for the update Nate. That's a nice little snatch of chrome with sea lice. Looking forward to getting out on the river with you next week!

Indians nets are back the Chehalis 5 days a week after a short closure. Should be slim pickins in the nooch. Big chrome Nates in the Indians nets. I need to go puke now. Saw lots of guys bonking on the coast 2 weeks ago also. Just as bad as the Indians.
