I spent the weekend down in Oregon fishing for steelhead. The weather was fantastic, the scenery was outstanding just a beautiful day to be outside and boy did I ever slay some chrome! Matter of fact this was my best day ever steelhead fishing. I can't disclose the exact location as I promised to keep it a secret, but here's how it all went down:

On Saturday afternoon went 1/1, when a little 2# native buck fell for my 50/50 rvfsr spoon. Technical I guess it was a rainbow trout. Sent him on his way, and went into town to grab some taco's for dinner.

Sunday was epic, I went 4/4! and was beside myself. Fist hour nothing, then a 5# native hen on roe under a float 5 feet in front of me. Then another 6# native buck in the tail out. Roe under a float bobber doggin' style. Next up, a 6.5# hatch buck on roe again, rigged with a white bead and orange yarn. This thing went nut's, but I was able to land it after a good battle. The bite went off so I picked up and moved downstream to a nice swift hole. The last one fell for a homemade hot pink, double bead, pink/white jig, one of my go to combos. I did the limit dance on the beach, packed up and was back to my car by 10:30. I was blessed today and still savoring the moment to make damn sure its permanently etched in my memory.!

I have had many tough fishing days over the past couple years and it's day's today that make all those fruitless outings worth it. You know what i'm saying?

Tight Lines,
Slayer

Way to go! A four fish day on that river is rare.
