The Cowlitz steelhead have been great. There are lots of fish, and they're willing to play! Springers are slowly showing themselves, but the area around blue creek and below has been pretty darn good. There have been some big number days up towards barrier on springers, but it seems like the bite lasts an hour, and randomly appears.
The best bet for those on the bank is going to be the mouth of Blue Creek. Later in the week after the flows have steadied after the weekend drop seems to be the best. When the water changes abruptly, it throws off the bite for a day or two. Generally they lower it on the weekends, which holds them up, but also can affect tehir willingness to play.
It's great to have a reliable go to steelhead run! We have numbers and biters! Send me an email if you'd like to get out, I have some dates available. Like my page on facebook for weekly specials and reports - www.facebook.com/natetreatfishing
