10 Aug Went out to the mouth near the green can. Nisqually Tribe had 3/4 mouth netted up. Seen one native checking nets with a silver alumnacraft and then took off up river after checking his catch. If they can net the delta before the river on our days, then net the river on their days then we won't see any fish in the river. I wonder how those endangered wild salmon survive those nets.

11 Aug I went down to the river this morning, to look, not fish and ran into a couple Fort Bragg MPs down there who said I needed to get my range card from range control or I will face a tresspassing ticket even if I am in the military. I went to get my pass today so I should be good now. He said they may start stationing MPs down there to keep the peace because it got a little rowdy last year. How things change in a few years?

Thanks for the report. May I ask where you picked up your "range card"? I really want to launch my kayak from Solo Point but I think I need to have that card to launch there...Is there a cost associated with it? Jeez....Stationing MP's now because people can't fish together? I think the tribe and the bank fishermen do not get along down there...I always hear some bad news coming from there or the Skok. Good luck to you.

Enter Lewis via Exit 119 off of I5 Turn right onto Kauffman Ave, Range control is the tan building just past the old tank display...No cost, but there are specific procedures you must follow before entering the range areas. They will explain everything once you get the card.

In order to use the launch at Solo Point you must have a department of defense window sticker. Range control does not regulate the use of Solo Point. JBLM Department of Public Works and MWR manage Solo Point and it is paid for by Soldiers Morale, Welfare and Recreation funds. MPs regularly patrol there but I have never seen them do anything to anyone without a sticker.
