Well I tried trolling on the Duwi for the first time. I have never done it before on the Duwi for Coho. My inexperience showed. I was fishing by the Spokane Bridge and I was the only boat in the water, first clue. Anyway, I read as much as I could about trolling and I tried a flasher, 5 ounce, and herring on one rod and on the other I tried a 4 ounce, and a spoon. Nothing doing! I have read that some people use Wiggle Warts but I wasn't sure if I need to weight those down and how far away from the boat I should go. Anyway, any pointers on location, set up, etc. would be more than awesome. Thanks!

I've had luck trolling wiggles in orange, red or pink. Up closer to Boeing. Let out enough line to start hitting bottom then bring it in some. Keep the lure a foot or two off bottom. No weight, just use the lures action to get down. Should be good in a couple weeks.

What size wiggle warts did you use to be able hit the bottom?

What time were you fishing the river? Your should try on the incoming tide.

I don't usually offer advice to this site but since you are possibly a fellow Montanan I can give you three quick tips that i've learned over the years . 1 check the tribal netting schedule. 2 dropper weights and dick nites work great. 3 fishing the tide is crucial.

Was there any fish there is the first question. Dick nite in #1 half & half of nickel frog. Go to outdoor emporium and ask Brian to show you how to troll with a dock nite and they are cheaper than everywhere else.

I am only posting this as an FYI because you posted your report under the Duwamish. Make sure you know your areas. Anything downstream of the 1st Ave S bridge is considered Area 10 and you have to follow area 10 rules (and there are even special rules for the Duwamish waterway below the 1st Ave bridge listed on the Area 10 map in the regs).

And the advice above regarding wiggle warts, dick nites (with a dropper), fish the incoming tide (if you can), and checking the net schedule (1-800-347-4669)..... spot on :)
