What a great day of fishing!!!!!!!!!!! We were fishing for trout all day and taking turns catching nice size trout (14"-17 1/2") when all of a sudden my boyfriend, Roger, was reeling in a trout and started yelling that he thought he had a big one on. Doug and I ran down to the dock to see what all the excitement was and to our amazement this big huge smallmouth bass was chasing the dang trout. Doug went to net the trout and the big ole' bass swam into the net also. We couldn't believe our eyes when the bass came out of the net. It wassssssssss hugeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!! 23" long and about 8" wide. The bass weighted 9 pounds!!!!!! We showed the bass to the neighbors on the dock and some passing boaters.....Then slipped her back into the water after Roger kissed her. We all had to put our poles up for a half our or so to regroup our thoughts of what just happened. This truly was a catch of a lifetime. We were all just beside ourselves with catching a double!!!!!!!......One we hooked and one we netted by accident. We don't even fish for bass, but heard this was a monster fish. What do you guys think........I've never seen anyone on the lake catch a bass that big and we live on the peninsula year round. Can you believe our beginners luck!!!!!!! WWWWooooooooo HHHHoooooooo!!!!! We were really bummed we didn't get a picture, but we do have witnesses.
