This report should probably be rated a 1, but I did catch a 15" jack Coho, so the day wasn't a complete bust.
Had a few hours to go in search of Coho today. My intention was to start low on the Duamish and then move upriver of 405 if nothing was happening down low. Fished a number of holes behind BECU to begin with about noon. The water was high and slowly moving out. There were not many people out fishing. I alternated between jigs, Dick Nites, and drifting eggs. Started getting some nibbles on the eggs, so stuck to one spot for a bit until I finally hooked a jack. Released it and thought things might pick up. Used up most of my supply of eggs before I finally decided the sculpin had had enough. Moved to a more sheltered spot and a couple casts with the jig resulted in a solid hit. Unfortunately my jigging retrieve was a little to fast, so I was already letting the rod tip drop before my hands caught up with my brain registering the strike. Gone. Continued to work my jig around the area, but nothing else was interested. Threw in the towel at 3:30. At least the jack kept the skunk off. Very few fish jumping and didn't see any fish hooked while I was out. The people I spoke to had all drawn blanks too. Never did venture upriver. Guess I'll save that for another day.
