hit the skok for the first time. quite the adventure. late night decision. early morning driving. not a clue where to go or if the other guys from the FB page i was chatting with would show. took a suggestion to head down purdy cutoff and then parked at the first sign of fishermen, which happened to be at the turn by the start of purdy creek.

watched some locals try to muscle some fish while i patiently waited for my turn. boy was it a good turn. nice 14.5b chunk of muscle took my 12lb line and had some fun. tried to tie me off on a stump even. managed to work my way down the rocks, way too small net in hand and get to the water. arm getting tired at this point but still workin the fish in. netted it like a pro and up the rocks i scamper. sorry locals, seattle landed the first fish. :-)

spent the rest of the day scampering for leader since i ran out and yarn since i forgot my entire bag of it. tried my luck at floating some eggs to no avail. got to experience young guys being professional grade flossers. only managed to bring home one fish but given how my year has gone one is a lot. overall a good experience because it was a new river and my first nice big chum of the year. now i can smoke something and my mom and be happy.

Thanks for the report!
On our way to collect mushrooms last weekend, I saw quite few folks working over Kennedy Creek with several fish on the bank. The dogs are definitely in, get them before they rot.

Were you fishing the deep hole w/bobber or 'the hole' where everybody flosses with yarn 8-10 foot leaders? (not that I have a problem with that...my philosophy is 'When in Rome...')

pat - i moved downstream to float eggs. there was some access just 50 yards downstream of the floss-fest. i needed the relaxation and to get away from the shit show. they were rolling against the far bank but no takers on the eggs. tele - come on man, at least post something diff here than you did on FB!! lol
