Absolutely killed it again. Both my and my buddy limited out within a few hours of showing up. Plenty of fish sitting out there, there was action pretty much the entire time we were out there.
Saw a few guys flippin floats again further upriver getting nothing. These fish aint feedin on eggs one bit. There was one guy using a purple jig that was having some amazing luck though and a group of friends flippin what looked like to be just corkies that we're doing pretty good themselves. There was even one kid who looked to be still in his teens casting out a big ol spoon. Didn't get anything the entire time we were there but at the last minute bam! He had a huge lunker on his line. Overall a great day fishing.
Few more trips like this and the freezer's going to be full for the season!

As for the seventh fish I'm baffled I didn't catch that before. My neighbors tagged along on this trip (main reason for the minivan), not sure how one of theirs ended up in the picture but I can assure you only twelve fillets made it into the freezer lol.

Wow - so many comments removed. I'm glad I didn't see what started the storm!

NOW... regarding the fish! :)
They look pretty dang beat! It was less than a week ago I was seeing dime-bright coho being pulled out of lower Snohomish river. Do you guys/gals think they've been hanging in the lower Sky or do you think they went this bad/red in just 1 week?

Anybody fishing Prison Hole? I was SHOCKED this morning when I saw how high the river was at LOW tide at the riffle! I went there to collect lures at 2am at the -2.4 tide. Waited until 3:20am and the tide never really dropped. It was 4-6 feet higher than it should have been (equivalent to a +4-5 foot tide). I guess all the rain negated the tidal effect.

The flooding pushed a lot of fish way upriver Pat. If you run up the river more the effects of the flooding starts to become less drastic and there are holes that are still fishable.

wow, you're really popular haha. So I guess the simple question is, were all the fish hooked in the mouth or not?

Either way, good to see that fish are there. Hopefully the "B run" will be better than what we've had going on so far this season.

Well there you go! Good job man. How long of a leader do you use when you fish with yarn and corkie? I never use it but maybe I should.

Lot of them jumping?

My goodness! Twice as many fish caught in two 1 hour trips in a river than I caught in 40 hours all season trolling AND river fishing! You're a PRO, bro!

They weren't one hour trips, more like 3-4, hence what "a few hours" means.

Redliner, I usually use a 2-3 ft leader except when the rivers a bit more flooded. When the river's really flowing I'll bump it up to around 5 ft to account for the current. If I know they're sitting in a snaggy I'll throw an extra corky on and peg it near the hook to keep things moving.

Hey Munch and others alike. As many sky anglers know the salmon go through a cycle of life when the enter the river. It is ideal too catch these fish when the are still fresh and have lots of fight in them. It is not so ideal to fish for them when they've reached their final resting grounds to lay eggs and die. So to help promote te accuracy of this site, do not post outstanding fishing conditions when you were fishing in areas that should really be left alone in respect to the fish who traveled so far to get there.
