Still trying for some coho this year. Tides are finally in our favor but water levels in the river are still super high.

It was quiet - saw only 3 fish jump and not sure what they were. I did hook something - even had witnesses! It was an 'almost catch'. Got it 2 feet from the beach before it spit the hook. I was pulling a bright green corky/yarn set up.

I didn't get a good look at it. It jumped and was bright silver, but felt only about 2-3 lbs. I was afraid it might be a dolly, so purposely I didn't set the hook hard. I think it may have been a small late run coho, but who knows for sure? :
I went to Tye Lake and also left empty handed. The guy next to me had 5 on his stringer using power-bait, but I didn't get anything on my lures or worm/bobber combos.

Your almost caught may have been a cutthroat. I've been catching them regularly the past two weeks on salmon gear.
