Fished the upper portions of the river. Float fished with a pink corky and a piece of purple and black yarn, above the corky I had a small bead and above that I used an egg weight instead of using split shots. This method is kind of a improvised jig that's very effective (and cheap) Yes I was using tiger prawns on the tip of the hook.
Most of my hookup were on a #2 hook. I ended up bringing in 8 fish including one metal head. All fish were released except two chum for the smoker as I'm planning on giving a lot of smoke salmon for xmas gifts. All of these fish were caught very close to shore which made them fairly easy to bring in.
