Its been a tradition to fish the June 1st opener at reiter with my dad the last few years. This year however, I could not be there in the morning. I headed up after work and started fishing about 4:30pm. I was not expecting much. Low clear water, lots of fish caught early, and im sure a bunch of spooked fish from the insane pounding of bobbers all day long. After talking to a couple guys who said it had been pretty quiet the last couple hours, I really didnt expect a fish and was just enjoying the light rain and being outside. On my fifth cast however it was Bobber down. Landed a smaller fish maybe 5-6 lbs after a great little run, and some fabulous air display. I was using the trusty night mare pattern from Joel's Jigs. Just wanted to give a quick shout out to George from Hevi-Beads for netting my fish, and showing me some great product! Nice to meet you!
