Fished reiter pond for an hour with no luck, few others fishing here no luck also. after reiter I than droved to high bridge area parked my truck on the side of the road I walked up river and found a nice stretch of deep pool 8' deep maybe. Two fly guys fishing I asked them if catch any they totally ignore me.They were not please to have me around. As I was standing there scout the water he said u better not fish by me I'll kick your ass. So i went 100ft up river.got my 1st fish on the 3rd cast. A solid 11lb 33" than an hour later catch my 2nd fish 28" maybe 8lbs. Also lost a monster fish on it went down river in the fast water and snapped off my 10lb leader. At the end before I leave the same guy asked what I was using and how deep I was fishing. I was pissed but nice to answer it.

From "kick your ass" to suddenly asking for tips. To "how deep", I would have answered "deep enough". :-)

Nice work brother! Have been inside the "hate" circle of select fly fishermen before; it was quite the knock-down, drag out war, online slander included. I admire your method of circumventing the situation with kindless. Tight lines, my friend.

ive converted to mostly dry fly fly fishing recently, and ill never become the elitist snobby type.. those types just ruin it for everyone. the point of fishing is to have fun.. how are threats fun? kinda defeats the purpose...

I was there just after you left! The two guys didn't know I was behind them just up the hill. They put away their fly rods and the older guy said " I thought that guy would never leave. Now let's pound some hatchery steel!", and started slinging bait! Later I ran into them at the road and introduced myself. The older guy says, holding his fly rod, good to meet you, I'm Kurt Beardslee! Hahahahahaha! JK

Way to be the better man, and the better sportsmen!

I heard there are some crazy rule closures on the rivers due to low water. No Afternoons or evening fishing. I do not know the area well so not clue to what parts they are talking about. Have any of you heard of all this. I am wishing to hit the river but it is confusing.

ilvcassidylake, Sorry you had to endure this, but I must say you handled this better than most.
Beautiful fish. It has been a tough year with the low water. Nice to hear of your catch.
Happy fishing!

Great job man, that is really something how they treated you. I was further up the other day and hit 3 fish , landed two-all on spoons - there are fish around and really glad to hear karma worked. Not sure I would have said a word to those jack wagons , but you are a credit to the guys that fish up there

Great job and way to handle that situation.

Here's some info on the recent Sky closures...

North Fork Skykomish River (Snohomish Co.) From mouth upstream including all tributaries closed to all fishing daily 2 PM to midnight until further notice.

South Fork Skykomish River (Snohomish/King Co.) From Sunset Falls upstream and all tributaries, including the Beckler, Foss, Miller and Rapid rivers and their tributaries closed to all fishing daily 2 PM to midnight until further notice.

It is alway good to be a bigger man and alway be nice to anyone especially when they are not nice. Sometimes you never know what kind of day people are having. Great job ilvcassidylake. My interactions with you have always been pleasant and you have showed me a lot and thank you for the lessons. We still have to take My sled to the cowlitz. Someday.
