My cousin Apple Jack and myself hiked up the devils trail (as its become known) to Lake Licktenwasser aprox. 5500 feet elevation. On the way up we encountered snow on the ground wich I figured there would be at the least some. This made the trail (what little of it there is anyways) pritty difficult to find. But an hour and forty five mins. later we arrived at the beautiful Alpine lake.I tossed my first lure and no bite. Every time I've been to this lake I've always had a fat fighting cut on the first cast. The water was way too cold but I did eventualy catch a small 8 or 9 inch cutt. My cousin Apple Jack's first hike to this lake caught 2. The first was only about 5 inches and the second about 7 or 8. The south end were the 5 inlet steams are were covered in snow but 80% of the lake was accessable. All in all a very good first hike of the season. Cracker Jack-Catching & Releasing
