i strolled up to the river at around 2ish i think, saw dj butler, getting wrapped up getting ready to leave with his limit. a few casts in and i foul hook a small pink on the pectoral fin, i was kind of hoping it would just get away without me handling it, and was blessed, it got away. good.
i was twitching a 1/4 oz pink maribou jig, at first it was a little slow, it took 15 minutes to get my first legitamate bite, landed a nice 4 1/2lb buck, chromer, bonked, then 3 casts later another smaller 3lb buck, bonked. then a little dry spell. my friend and his family were there so i decided i didnt want to hog all the fun, so the next 2 hook ups i got. i handed the rod to my friends mom immediately, and let her catch, keep and mark those fish on her card. that made her day. then my friend tells me about mr. butlers bloody tuna scent, the gears started grinding so i decided to apply some sandshrimp scent to the thread of the jig ( not on the maribou) first cast fish to the bank, bonked. a few casts later i was limited out. in this time i hooked up a total of 8 times or so landed 4 and friends mom landed 2 of those hook ups. 2 other fish were caught between 10 fisherman with eyesight on my side of the river during the time i was there lol. twiching scented jigs will get the job done. the fish are in go get em.

Oh Ya!! I figured you were going to limit out. Dude, your fish are way brighter than mine. I missed the fresh school by like an hour

about an hour after you left, there was one school in particular that was huge.. probably 500-1000 salmon all in one group surfacing in a 400' line one after the other.. it was absurdly thick for that 10 minutes then they passed on by.

What part of the river were you guys in? I was at Rotary during sunset/high tide and couldn't get anything to hit.

be sure to hit incoming tide guys, its a lot better fishing. one could still catch fish on other tides, but incoming will give you the best odds.
