i hit the snohomish early this morning, got there around 7am. mr. butler was already there with 1 fish in his cooler. we both twitched jigs for a bit over an hour with nary a hit to be had. very few rollers, not surprising though, it was high slack, at the beginning of receding tide. i decided to go on a fly rod scouting trip up by reiter to kill time, so i did that, nary a fish to be had. arrived back at my hole at 2 pm, perfect timing.. i fished low slack to incoming, and that was the ticket. big schools of fish started showing, rolling all over the place, lots of hook ups, landed and bonked the first 4 fish i caught because i was using scent. i saw 1 other fish caught between 6 people at the hole today. there were plenty of fish to be had. my set up: 6-12lb medium light action twitching rod (6'6") 10# maxima ug, pink/white 1/4oz jig, twitched, the head and thread only scented with sandshrimp oil** this seemed to make a big difference. if your not fishing on the bottom, your not fishing. if you notice tons of fish passing by within range of your lure and you cant get a bite, your doing something wrong, theyre not lockjaw, very bitey in fact. good luck, hope this helps.
