So i decide to fish the opener on the duwamish today. I think i pretty much threw the kitchen sink at them today. Buzz bombs. Spinners. Spoons. Jigs. Corkies and yarn. And like all the years ive tried to try my luck on the lower river. Nothing. What i do notice about the duwamish is. There are a ton of snags. Ive read some reports last year where there are 2 peopIe who seem to be the only ones catching fish. Honestly after my experiences im sorry to say but the reports seem hard to believe. I usually fish the meeker st hole in kent and do good there. So who knows. I think im done with the duwamish. Maybe ill go fish the puyallup and get this skunk off.

I was on Duwamish (Green) also Thursday from 10 - 2pm and nothing. Only saw 1 guy that caught fish out of the 15 or so fishermen. From talking to other people around the area, it seems they were catching some very early in the morning.

I wouldn't give up already keep in mind its still pretty early. Although the river is snaggy I know some stretches of water that I haven't lost a single lure. Fish the Puyallup for now just because thats where the fish are right now but come September the Duwamish will be hot fishing.

Come september ill be fishing the upper green. At least the river flows a little faster. I think the lower duwamish with its limited access to bank fisherman belongs to boaters. And those guys who seem to catch fish down below dont want to share there spot. It really takes they joy out of fishing.

There is lots of good places in the lower Duwi from the bank, some more popular than others. Only problem in the lower is the tide has a direct effect on the bite. Fish the lower from flood to high slack. After that call it a wrap. Combine that with mornings and your in business. Puke is full of fish, but also full of people. I'll take a few less fish to avoid people. Pink jigs is all you need.

With a name like legendaryangler, one would think you wouldn't need people to share their spots with you.

We suppose to share our spot? Weve spent years learning this river system. And someone we don't even know wants us to tell him where we are fishing. You gotta be joking. The internet has been ruining good fishing holes for years. Take a bike or go walk along the entire river. Find your own spot. People always seem to want something for nothing.

I started working down by the duwamish 5 years ago and didn't know a single spot to fish but I just drove around and went down random roads and found some great spots for fishing and they are all public. when I first started River fishing I always wanted people to just give up a good spot to fish but once I started to just find my own I stared to realize that it's better that way. More gratifying knowing you found a honey hole and less people. Throw a dick nite out there and reel in slow. Morning bite is best but evening works too as long as the tides coming in

I'll be out in the morning with a pal and my leaky boat. I have always done well near canopy west . There is a hole there that will hit on incoming tide.

Dang, you got me. All those reports were fabricated. I guess there's no reason to fish this river anymore on account that there were never any fish to begin with. Truthfully, I have a buddy that works at Pike Place that lets me takes pictures of their fish.

Still not going to share. So apparently this site is just you boasting about your catch. I was fish the boeing plant area. Then i drove around and looked at every promising hole all the way up to the starfire area.

Oops hit submit too quick. To the first year fishers, it can be very frustrating not catching fish. But when you have spent as much time working a river and getting good at it you can't expect people to willy nilly post all their secrets on the Internet for the world to see. Otherwise every single secret honey hole would be getting exploited. You have to go through the same trial and errors as everybody else has. We have all been there at some point. Keep at it you will eventually find your groove.

No. I was fishing the boeing plant. Fish were jumping along some logs on the other side.
